Snow in May

Dandelions floating in the sky
Little boys running in summer shoes
I caught a glimpse of the catcher in the rye
In my mind the wait of tomorrow echoes
In their flight the birds cheerfully cry
I sent to them my worries and woes
Yet the sins of June still come by.

*

Pretty Snow of May
How I'd love to see you stay
Will you dance around me tomorrow like you did today?

The Fading Lights

You know, if I read your words over and over again, they become random letters with no meaning. So when I think of you I wouldn't be haunted by what we cannot change - the possibility of us being happy together.

The small picture within the bigger one

The words that come out of your mouth
Are bullets to my thoughts
I don't want to judge, but my tolerance has it's limits
Why betray my trust for such foolish things in life?
You have exceeded me in all
But you say things which you don't mean
Untruthful, spiteful things
And do things for your own selfish benefit
Considering only for yourself and leaving me behind
Shocked, because I never expected any of this
In awe, because you can do it without remorse
Disappointment, because I regarded you well
Sadness, because you can still smile at me and lie.
Anger has yet to be fully provoked. For now.

I want you to know that I am not here to play the rat race
Everything you desire, you can have them
I am here to lend a hand in times of need
Regard me as a friend, not a competitor, not an obstruction.
Now is the time of our lives
You should really see the bigger picture
And forget about the small little things that can make you trip
I hope you realize this soon enough.
But in case you fall, I'd still be here to pull you back up -
My friend.

Dancing Daisies

Fields of innocence and purity
Arriving alongside spring
I take in the dainty figures
Nodding their pretty heads as I walk by
I smile inside - solemn fondness, exchanging greetings
And give thanks for these little beautiful things
Wonderful world we live in, actually.

Victory for all?

When motives turn down the wrong path
And the people's priority is put to second place
The world loses it's colorful splendor
To bring down or be brought down
Remains as the only sane and necessary choice
One side celebrates, the other weeps for the dead
Unless we continue pretending that everything is fine
The things we treasure and the ones we love
Will appear twisted and contorted
Our memory being the only thing left that is upright
Albeit recalled in the naked black and white truth.

It is - the only victory that deserves applause.
